12I just wish that those troublemakers who want to mutilate you by circumcision would mutilate themselves.13For you have been called to live in freedom, my brothers and sisters. But don’t use your freedom to satisfy your sinful nature. Instead, use your freedom to serve one another in love. 14For the whole law can be summed up in this one command: “Love your neighbor as yourself.” 15But if you are always biting and devouring one another, watch out! Beware of destroying one another.
“U shumela Mudzimu ndi u shumela vhathu, u shumela vhathu ndi u shumela Mudzimu”

Translation “Serving God is serving people, serving people is serving God”
What Is Service
- The willingness to humble oneself and act for the benefit of another in the name of Christ.
- It is an attitude followed by an action to better of facilitate an improvement of the condition of another.
- Why are more Christians being concerned about being blessed instead of being a blessing.
- We have forgotten freedom
10For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.
57But thank God! He gives us victory over sin and death through our Lord Jesus Christ. 58So, my dear brothers and sisters, be strong and immovable. Always work enthusiastically for the Lord, for you know that nothing you do for the Lord is ever useless.
I Peter 4:10
10God has given each of you a gift from his great variety of spiritual gifts. Use them well to serve one another
6 In his grace, God has given us different gifts for doing certain things well. So if God has given you the ability to prophesy, speak out with as much faith as God has given you. 7 If your gift is serving others, serve them well. If you
are a teacher, teach well. 8 If your gift is to encourage others, be encouraging. If it is giving, give generously. If God has given you leadership ability, take the responsibility seriously. And if you have a gift for showing kindness to others, do it gladly.
How To Discover Your Gift
- Volunteer your services.
- Know your abilities, temperament, personality and experience.
- Check if you delight in exercising the gift.
- Ask for feedback.
- Did you honour God
14Jesus saw the huge crowd as he stepped from the boat, and he had compassion on them and healed their sick.
How To Be Of Service
- Be sensitive
- Be available
- Be faithful – finish the task
12After washing their feet, he put on his robe again and sat down and asked, “Do you understand what I was doing? 13You call me ‘Teacher’ and ‘Lord,’ and you are right, because that’s what I am. 14And since I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you ought to wash each other’s feet. 15I have given you an example to follow. Do as I have done to you. 16I tell you the truth, slaves are not greater than their master. Nor is the messenger more important than the one who sends the message. 17Now that you know these things, God will bless you for doing
We can serve without loving God, but we cannot love God without serving others.
The question is not:
- What car you drive
- How big is your house
- How many clothes do you have
