The Power of Serving (KINGDOM SERVICE Series)

Sunday Service –  06 March 2022

Introduction

There is a world of death, ruin, pain and isolation out there and God loves this world and its people. He is inviting you to partner with him in building something called church that embodied the kingdom that is here now and is to come which is their only hope.

What Does It Mean To Serve God

  • You can not serve God and mammon. You have to serve somebody or something we arrange our life in order to reap the benefits
  • Serving mammon is not bow to down before money – Rearrange my life so that I can be blessed by money i.e. security, confidence, the staff I want, the ability to influence people, the ability not to ask anybody.
  • Rearrange my life so that you can trust him for all that you want
  • Serving is doing everything with the attitude to be a servant
  • We are here to serve – we are not saved by serving but we are saved to serve
  • We need to be aggressive in praying and look ways and for opportunities to serve or help others.

Benefits Of Serving God

  • Serving releases blessing that leads to breakthrough. The less we have the self in the mind the happier we will be. It gets you off yourself
  • Gratitude
  • You feel being part of something.
  • When you see change in somebody brings fulfilment.

Colosians 3:23-24
23Whatever you do, do your work heartily, as for the Lord rather than for men, 24knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance. It is the Lord Christ whom you serve.

Matthew 25:33-46
33and He will put the sheep on His right, and the goats on the left. 34″Then the King will say to those on His right, ‘Come, you who are blessed of My Father,
inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world. 35’For I was hungry, and you gave Me something to eat; I was thirsty, and you gave
Me something to drink; I was a stranger, and you invited Me in; 36naked, and you clothed Me; I was sick, and you visited Me; I was in prison, and you came to Me.’ 37″Then the righteous will answer Him, ‘Lord, when did we see You hungry, and feed You, or thirsty, and give You something to drink? 38’And when did we see You a stranger, and invite You in, or naked, and clothe You? 39’When did we see You sick, or in prison, and come to You?’ 40″The King will answer and say to them, ‘Truly I say to you, to the extent that you did it to one of these brothers of Mine, even the least of them, you did it to Me.’ 41″Then He will also say to those on His left, ‘Depart from Me, accursed ones, into the eternal fire which has been prepared for the devil and his angels; 42for I was hungry, and you gave Me nothing to eat; I was thirsty, and you gave Me nothing to drink; 43I was a stranger, and you did not invite Me in; naked, and you did not clothe Me; sick, and in prison, and you did not visit Me.’ 44″Then they themselves also will answer, ‘Lord, when did we see You hungry, or thirsty, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not take care of You?’ 45 “Then He will answer them, ‘Truly I say to you, to the extent that you did not do it to one of the least of these, you did not do it to Me.’ 46″These will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.”

Matthew 25:33-46 lessons

  • However we treat people Jesus takes it personally.
  • Selfish people does not get happy
  • How does it feel just to come to the service and fold our hands.
  • Have a little less opinion

Matthew 20:20-28
20Then the mother of the sons of Zebedee came toJesus with her sons, bowing down and making a request of Him. 21And He said to her, “What do you
wish?” She *said to Him, “Command that in Your kingdom these two sons of mine may sit one on Your right and one on Your left.” 22But Jesus answered,
“You do not know what you are asking. Are you able to drink the cup that I am about to drink?” They *said to Him, “We are able.” 23He *said to them, “My cup you shall drink; but to sit on My right and on My left, this is not Mine to give, but it is for those for whom it has been prepared by My Father.” 24And hearing this, the ten became indignant with the two brothers. 25But Jesus called them to Himself and said, “You know that the rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and their great men exercise authority over them. 26″It is not this way among you, but whoever wishes to become great among you shall be your servant, 27and whoever wishes to be first among you shall be your slave; 28just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many.”

Matthew 20:20-28 lessons

  • You don’t need prophetic word to serve.
  • Even if you serve somebody without a prophetic word God will not punish you for it.
  • Learn to follow the inner peace that comes with serving somebody or somewhere else

1 Peter 2:16
16 Act as free men, and do not use your freedom as a covering for evil, but use it as bond slaves of God.

Ephesians 6:5-8
5 Slaves, be obedient to those who are your masters according to the flesh, with fear and trembling, in the sincerity of your heart, as to Christ; 6not by way of
eyeservice, as men-pleasers, but as slaves of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart. 7With good will render service, as to the Lord, and not to men, 8knowing thatwhatever good thing each one does, this he will receive back from the Lord, whether slave or free.

Ephesians 6:5-8 Lessons

  • One way to say thank God is also ask him to show you somebody or somewhere to serve.
  • We should be not too focused into what we want.

Galatians 5:13
13For you were called to freedom, brethren; only do not turn your freedom into an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another.

Equipped to Serve

1Peter 4:10-11 NASB
10As each one has received a special gift, employ it in serving one another as good stewards of the manifold grace of God. 11Whoever speaks, is to do so as one who is speaking the utterances of God; whoever serves is to do so as one who is serving by the strength which God supplies; so that in all things God may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom belongs the glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.

You Have A Special Gift

Your body is the only one that is capable of making visible what is invisible the spiritual and the divine. We make visible that there is something better which they might not know. The day I got born again I felt like I knew God long enough

A Good Stewards – (You have a calling)

Mark 10:17-31
17As He was setting out on a journey, a man ran up to Him and knelt before Him, and asked Him, “Good Teacher, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?” 18And Jesus said to him, “Why do you call Me good? No one is good except God alone. 19″You know the commandments, ‘DO NOT MURDER, DO NOT COMMIT ADULTERY, DO NOT STEAL, DO NOT BEAR FALSE WITNESS, Do not defraud, HONOR YOUR FATHER AND MOTHER.'” 20And he said to Him, “Teacher, I have kept all these things from my youth up.” 21Looking at him, Jesus felt a love for him and said to him, “One thing you lack: go and sell all you possess and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow Me.” 22But at these words he was saddened, and he went away grieving, for he was one who owned much property. 23And Jesus, looking around, *said to His disciples, “How hard it will be for those who are wealthy to enter the kingdom of God!” 24The disciples were amazed at His words. But Jesus *answered again and *said to them, “Children, how hard it is to enter the kingdom of God! 25″It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God.” 26They were even more astonished and said to Him, “Then who can be saved?” 27Looking at them, Jesus *said, “With people it is impossible, but not with God; for all things are possible with God.” 28Peter began to say to Him, “Behold, we have left everything and followed You.” 29Jesus said, “Truly I say to you, there is no one who has left house or brothers or sisters or mother or father or children or farms, for My sake and for the gospel’s sake, 30but that he will receive a hundred times as much now in the present age, houses and brothers and sisters and mothers and children and farms, along with persecutions; and in the age to come, eternal life. 31″But many who are first will be last, and the last, first.”

A Good Stewards

  • It is good to work with somebody who when you ask to do certain task their respond is “It is my pleasure to do the this tusk”
  • We can not separate love from serving and giving. People serve not because they don’t have something to do.
  • You can not out give God

Serving By The Strength Which God Supplies – ( You have a partner)

  • Even the crowns we will wear need to be cast at his feet. I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.
  • There is no limit to what he can do

Luke 1:8-16
8Now it happened that while he was performing his priestly service before God in the appointed order of his division,9 according to the custom of the priestly office, he was chosen by lot to enter the temple of the Lord and burn incense. 10And the whole multitude of the people were in prayer outside at the hour of the incense offering. 11And an angel of the Lord appeared to him, standing to the right of the altar of incense. 12Zacharias was troubled when he saw
the angel, and fear gripped him. 13But the angel said to him, “Do not be afraid, Zacharias, for your petition has been heard, and your wife Elizabeth will
bear you a son, and you will give him the name John. 14″You will have joy and gladness, and many will rejoice at his birth. 15″For he will be great in the sight of the Lord; and he will drink no wine or liquor, and he will be filled with the Holy Spirit while yet in his mother’s womb. 16″And he will turn many of the sons of Israel back to the Lord their God.

  • Unusual job opportunity Luke 1:9-10
