More than a Conqueror – Part 2

Daniel 3:16-18

16Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego replied, “O Nebuchadnezzar, we do not need to defend ourselves before you. 17If we are thrown into the blazing furnace, the God whom we serve is able to save us. He will rescue us from your power, Your Majesty. 18But even if he doesn’t, we want to make it clear to you, Your Majesty, that we will never serve your gods or worship the gold statue you have set up.”

Introduction

#1

  • Your presence in this planet has purpose – you are not a cosmic coincidence or relational accident.
  • God was not surprised by your presence
  • You have been strategically placed on this planet for such a time as this
  • He intended for you to be born when you were born, how you were born and with what you were born with.
  • You are not operating with deficit because latent in you is every thing you need to all you can.

Jeremiah 1:5

5“I knew you before I formed you in your mother’s womb. Before you were born I set you apart and appointed you as my prophet to the nations.”

#2

  • I am built by design
  • I am crafted for my calling
  • I am wired for my work
  • I am called to it, I am equipped for it

#3

  • Just because people can not see it does not mean is not present.
  • Purpose is an answer to the problem.
  • Purpose is God’s preference for us

#4

  • He will do anything to get purpose its way and make things to be inconsistence with their nature
  • Knock down Jericho walls
  • Make the raven to feed you
  • Open a way in the red sea

#5

  • The prerequisite for God’s purpose to become our experience is our participation.
  • We need to be hungry for His purpose to be fulfilled.

Psalm 37:4
4Take delight in the Lord, and he will give you your heart’s desires.

#6

  • The things you want oh God make me to want them.
  • I must want it for myself
  • There are things you want that God needs on earth like Hanna’s case she wanted company but God needed a prophet.

#7

  • The prerequisite for God’s purpose to become our experience is our participation.

Faith

  • We participate in God’s purpose by walking in faith.
  • God will let you live on whatever level you settle for.

Matthew 13:58
58And so he did only a few miracles there because of their unbelief.

  • Faith is the bridge you must cross from were you are to were you need to be.
  • Faith is the road from a purposeless life to a purposeful life.
  • Faith is the transport from the desert to Canaan land. Our land of victory.

1. Culture

Firstly when you are conquered by Babylon they strip your culture.

John 10:10
10The thief ’s purpose is to steal and kill and destroy. My purpose is to give them a rich and satisfying life.

  • This words are not three word explaining the same thing but three words indicating three things the devil comes to do.
  • Sometimes we survive the destruction but somethings get stolen. At time we survive the killing but our faith is stolen or joy is stolen.
  • You are coming after my family but you want my praise.
  • You are coming after my job but you want my praise.
  • You are coming after my health but I know you want my praise
  • I will not let you have my praise

2. Identity

Secondly when you are conquered by Babylon they strip your name.

Daniel 1:7
7The chief of staff renamed them with these Babylonian names:

Daniel was called Belteshazzar.
Hananiah was called Shadrach.
Mishael was called Meshach.
Azariah was called Abedneg

  • In the middle of a loss he wants to label you so that you must loose your Identity. Coming out with identity crisis
  • People can use people who don’t know who they are.
  • Not good enough
  • Not strong enough
  • You are a failure
  • You are useless

3. Faith

Thirdly when you are conquered by Babylon they strip your faith.

  • They put a huge idolatry image.
  • They are to worship the image or die by being thrown into furnace.
  • We are so convince that w don’t have to convince how we feel about this matter

  • The deliverance is not going to be from the fire but from the king’s hand.
  • Verse 18 raise a different level of faith Daniel 3:16-18 18But even if he doesn’t, we want to make it clear to you, Your Majesty, that we will never serve your gods or worship the gold statue you have set up. ”
  • This is the faith that is stubborn, unyielding, unbending and fireproof.
  • Fire represent challenges

James 1:2-4
2My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, 3knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. 4But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing.

1 Peter 4:12-13
12Beloved, do not think it strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened to you; 13but rejoice to the extent that you partake of Christ’s sufferings, that when His glory is revealed, you may also be glad with exceeding joy.

  • The gospel is not all about avoidance but is also the gospel of overcoming.
  • There are something I can not avoid but I can overcome.
  • Even if I am not delivered from the fire I am delivered from his majesty’s hand.
  • We need faith that can stand the fire.
  • They are losing everything for doing what is right.
  • Don’t stop believing what is coming your way

The Power Faith

  • It makes you survive what scotched others.
  • We can have the same experience but different results.

Firmly tide

Daniel 3:24-25
24But suddenly, Nebuchadnezzar jumped up in amazement and exclaimed to his advisers, “Didn’t we tie up three men and throw them into the furnace?” “Yes, Your Majesty, we certainly did,” they replied. 25“Look!” Nebuchadnezzar shouted. “I see four men, unbound, walking around in the fire unharmed! And the fourth looks like a god*!”

They were loosed in it

Daniel 3:28-25
28Then Nebuchadnezzar said, “Praise to the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego! He sent his angel to rescue his servants who trusted in him. They defied the king’s command and were willing to die rather than serve or worship any god except their own God. 29Therefore, I make this decree: If any people, whatever their race or nation or language, speak a word against the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, they will be torn limb from limb, and their houses will be turned into heaps of rubble. There is no other god who can rescue like this!” 30Then the king promoted Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego to even higher positions in the province of Babylon.

Proverbs 21:1
1The king’s heart is in the hand of the Lord, Like the rivers of water; He turns it wherever He wishes.

Conclusion

  • Purpose is not limited to God using your talent or skill but when it extend to when God uses your story.
  • Faith is not denial but believe that he can change it
  • All disappoint from people and things that did not turn out the way you expected may it be healed
