How to Lead a Soul to Jesus Christ

Introduction

  • Lead or guide to understand and believe the gospel – it is pointing people to Jesus Christ so they can trust in what he did.
  • We are only responsible to teach them what the bible says.
  • Everyone has freewill and every one is different.

ACTS 8:29-32

29Then the Spirit said to Philip, “Go near and overtake this chariot.”30So Philip ran to him, and heard him reading the prophet Isaiah, and said, “Do you understand what you are reading?” 31And he said, “How can I, unless someone guides me?” And he asked Philip to come up and sit with him. 32The place in the Scripture which he read was this: “He was led as a sheep to the slaughter; And as a lamb before its shearer is silent, So He opened not His mouth.

MATTHEW 13:14-15

14And in them the prophecy of Isaiah is fulfilled, which says: ‘Hearing you will hear and shall not understand, And seeing you will see and not perceive;15For the hearts of this people have grown dull. Their ears are hard of hearing, And their eyes they have closed, Lest they should see with their eyes and hear with their ears, Lest they should understand with their hearts and turn, So that I should heal them.’

2 TIMOTHY 4: 1-5

1I charge you therefore before God and the Lord Jesus Christ, who will judge the living and the dead at His appearing and His kingdom: 2Preach the word! Be ready in season and out of season. Convince, rebuke, exhort, with all longsuffering and teaching. 3For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers; 4and they will turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables. 5But you be watchful in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry.

Sin

  • Rom 3:10 As it is written: “There is none righteous, no, not one.
  • Rom 3:23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.
  • Rom 6:23 For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
  • Joh 7:7 The world cannot hate you, but it hates Me because I testify of it that its works are evil.

SIN – DEATH

  • Separation – Heaven or Hell
  • Separation from The Holy Spirit
  • Separation from God
  • Separation from the Body
  • Spirit does not die

1 JOHN 1:8-10

8If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.9If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.10If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar, and His word is not in us.

ROMANS 3:10-11

10As it is written: “There is none righteous, no, not one; 11There is none who understands; There is none who seeks after God.

  1. Man Is Lost

    • A man will never get saved until he realises that he is lost.
    • Instead of asking a person if he is saved better ask them when was the first time you realise that you were lost
  2. Sacrifice

    • 1Tim 1:15 This is a faithful saying and worthy of all acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am chief.
    • Rom 5:6 For when we were still without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly.
    • Rom 5:8 But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
    • 2Co 5:21 For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.
    • 1Pe 2:24 who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness–by whose stripes you were healed.
    • 1Pe 3:18 For Christ also suffered once for sins, the just for the unjust, that He might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh but made alive by the Spirit.
    • Heb 9:26 He then would have had to suffer often since the foundation of the world; but now, once at the end of the ages, He has appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of Himself.
  3. Shedding

    • Heb 9:12 Not with the blood of goats and calves, but with His own blood He entered the Most Holy Place once for all, having obtained eternal redemption.
    • Heb 9:22 And according to the law almost all things are purified with blood, and without shedding of blood there is no remission.
    • Eph 1:7 In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace.
    • Col 1:14 in whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins.
    • Heb 13:12 Therefore Jesus also, that He might sanctify the people with His own blood, suffered outside the gate.
    • 1Pet 1:18 knowing that you were not redeemed with corruptible things, like silver or gold, from your aimless conduct received by tradition from your fathers,19but with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot.
  4. Salvation By Faith

    • Act 16:30 And he brought them out and said, “Sirs, what must I do to be saved?”31 So they said, “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved, you and your household.“
    • Eph 2:8 For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, 9not of works, lest anyone should boast.
    • Gal 2:16 knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law but by faith in Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Christ Jesus, that we might be justified by faith in Christ and not by the works of the law; for by the works of the law no flesh shall be justified.
    • Rom 3:25 whom God set forth as a propitiation by His blood, through faith, to demonstrate His righteousness, because in His forbearance God had passed over the sins that were previously committed,
  5. Sealed By The Holy Spirit

    • Eph 1:13 In Him you also trusted, after you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation; in whom also, having believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise.
    • Eph 4:30 And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.
    • 2Co_1:22 who also has sealed us and given us the Spirit in our hearts as a guarantee.
  6. Son

    • 1Pe 1:23 having been born again, not of corruptible seed but incorruptible, through the word of God which lives and abides forever, [5]
    • Gal 3:26 For you are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus.
